Starting my 90g....

Well much to my surprise my husband went out yesterday while I was at work and bought me what I need to get started on my 90g! YEAH! He bought a sump, overflow, and pump. It was actually supposed to be a Christmas gift but I accidently found it...well he didn't actually hide it (not sure what he was thinking!). He knows nothing about reef tanks but he went to my trusted LFS and they helped him out (thanks River City). The only problem is, he told them is was 150g when it's actually only a 90g. I haven't had time to look at what he bought so I'm not sure if it will actually work or if it may be too big. Either way.....I'm under way and really excited!!

What a nice guy! I have a 90 gallon RR and I like it! There are only two things I would change! I wish the footprint was 24'' wide! And I hate where my overflow is on the tank! I will be watchin your build! Post lots of pics and good luck!

So where did you put your overflow and why don't you like where it is? I've never built a tank from the bottom up before so I'm looking for all the help I can get!!! I will post lots of pics and I'm sure I will have lots of questions!!

My tank is an oceanic RR tank, so it came with the built in overflow! From what I understand you are using a overflow box that hangs on the back! That makes yours up and out of the way already! Here is a pick of my tank to show the overflow! Its the large black bo on the back of the tank on the left side! Dont mind the dirty glass! LOL!

Okay got it!! You're right, my overflow hangs off the back. I came home from work and my husband had most of the plumbing done! We just have to get a few more fittings to finish off the overflow and we will be done. Then next we'll have to get a skimmer, some powerheads and a canopy.
