Fragging Soft Corals

Ok, so Bryopsis has overcome most of the base of my corals. I have a large finger leather, a devils hand, and and a few rics I would like to save and move to my new tank this weekend/next week. Can I basically just cut the leather and the devils had above the bryopsis, and then attach it to a new rock? And how do you frag a Ric?-are they a complete loss?

IVE HEARD TO PUT A RUBBERBAND IT WOULD PINCH OFF WHERE IT IS AND START A NEW BASE

I have had pretty good success at fragging branches off my mother colt colony. I cut the branches with an xacto knife under water in a containter as it oozes everywhere and then I use a needle with fishing line to go thru the base and tie it to the rock. I make two runs with the fishing line going in opposite directions to keep it upright. I then put the frags in a low flow area of the aquarium and they attach a few weeks later. It is a MESSY and STINKY job!
