Question Mangroves going from freshwater to saltwater?

anyone ever have any problems receiving mangroves grown in freshwater and adding them to your saltwater tank?? Is there a way to aclimate them ??

Yeah, you have to do it very slowly. Start them off in fresh, and increase the salinity slightly each week until the water reaches the desired salinity. If you go too fast, they will succumb to osmotic shock

My big ones were in salt. I got 30 on ebay and put them in my tank, all died except two. I thought they were grown in saltwater, but I think I guessed wrong

Still say the best place to buy is reefcleaners.org . Plus they are a MAAST sponsor unlike the Ebay supplier that a member used.

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend getting them on ebay. WIth John, you know they were grown in SW which is a must

Good luck! Hopefully they will be OK since you're acclimating them the right way
