I have read that keeping a Percula Clown is more difficult than the Ocellaris Clown... I like the look of the Perdula better so my question is:
Why is the Percula more difficult to keep than the Ocellaris?

I have never heard of this and I have had a mated pair of True Percs that I have had for 3 years. They have survived three major tank crashes.

Tank bred fish are more hardy than wild caught. Tank bred False Percs are very common and very popular since they are easier to keep. Most places consider the tank bred version a beginner fish, while the regular percs and false percs are a bit harder to keep. This may be the reason. Just my 2 cents.
