Pay it Sideways Marine Education Program
Do you have any good aquarist reference books? Would you consider lending them out? If so, please read on:
I've loved reading books on Marine Aquariums to gain better insight into the hobby. The structured (and hopefully reliable) information in published books is much appreciated, especially after spending hours on the internet digging through hundreds of (fairly random) posts trying to learn more.
I've bought a few aquarist books, and have checked out all the worthwile related books in the San Antonio public library (which got painfully redundant on the basics). I would love to read more intermidiate/advanced material like coral related and fish breeding, but since I'm poor (saving up for tank stuff) I won't be able to buy more books anytime soon.
So is there anyone out there interested in lending a good informative reef book for a couple weeks? I could trade a book for a while or leave some other type of collateral. I also might be interested in purchasing a good reduced price book.
Ones I'm looking for:
Aquarium Corals : Selection, Husbandry, and Natural History
Natural Reef Aquariums: Simplified Approaches to Creating Living Saltwater Microcosms
Book of Coral Propagation, Volume 1 Edition 2: Reef Gardening for Aquarists
Reef Secrets: Starting Right, Selecting Fishes & Invertebrates, Advanced Biotope Techniques
The Reef Aquarium: A Comprehensive Guide to the Identification and Care of Tropical Marine Invertebrates (Vol 1)
The Reef Aquarium: A Comprehensive Guide to the Identification and Care of Tropical Marine Invertebrates (Vol 2)
The Reef Aquarium: Science, Art, and Technology (Vol 3)
...or any other good informative reads that I haven't gotten my hands on yet.
Ones I have:
Your First Marine Aquarium
101 Best Saltwater Fishes
Pocket Expert Guide: Marine Fishes
Pocket Expert Guide: Marine Inverts
The Conscientious Marine Aquarist (2008 Second Edition)

RE MAAST Library
Hmmm... the Library has 'some' stuff. So does the rest of the internet. But after spending all day at work on a computer; it's nice to be able to stretch out and read a book, or read in bed before lights out, etc. Know what I mean?
That's why I would be interested in swapping physical books, or building a MAAST physical library. I think that would harness the advantages of a local/regional group better than trying to publish our own knowledge base.
p.s. and those of you who are expert enough to publish articles which add a contribution in addition to what is already readily available on the net, I think that is awesome. That just isn't going to be me anytime soon.
