    Default Aquapod Mods

What are some of the modifications that you guys have done to make your Aquapod better?

I run a sapphire aquatics skimmer and just recently put in a 660GPH Rio Hyperflow 10 Pump that fits perfectly in the back. Highly recomend this pump. Has anyone tried flex piping on the manufacturers return instead of the flimsy plastic deflector?

Curious of a small florescent fixture so I can run my MH for less hours and still have viewing time. Anyone seen a small fixture that could fit easily behind the MH fixture?

I have a 24 gallon aquapod, I drilled 2 holes in the back and added a sump to increase water volume and it inabled me to add a bigger protien skimmer, I turned the remaining chambers into a refuge, filled them with rubble rock and put some LFS aglea back there for come copepod build up and genreally cleaning.

heres something real simple i did when i had an aquapod, replace those crappy plates designed to block flow into the back with a piece of plexiglass. you can get it lowes for a couple of bucks, make sure they cut it very accurately. My aquapod always had surface skum but after that it cleared it up and i noticed my nitrates dropped a lil as well. I know theres much bigger/better things you can do with the aquapod, but thats something real simple you can do.

I had to replace the return pump with a rio as well. The stock one had a metal shaft!!!

I have the flex tube on my return as well..

I have the MH as well and am thinking of making a small canopy out of wood with two them screw in type coralife daylight/actinic bulbs and put it behind the MH.

Anyone know if another company makes these all-in-one 30w (screw on) bulbs like coralife?
