Yes but I hardly frequent that site. I will check it out more once my tank arrives, to get a better feel for LFS in my area.

It just so happens that you're about 10 miles away from getting your mind blown! The best place on that side of the state is Tropicorium in Romulus. They're a wholesaler that does do local retail, since most of their wholesale customers are from out-of-state. It's also the first place to do coral farming in the country, so it's worth a look!
Other than that, it's about a 30-minute drive to anywhere worthwhile, but the best of them include Kee's Aquarium and Pets in Shelby township, The Aquarium Shop in Royal Oak, Atlantis Fish Shoppe in Clawson, and Choice Aquariums in Farmington Hills. If you make it into Toledo I'd go to The Coral Reef. As to the central and western parts of the state, if you make it to Lansing you only have 1 choice, Preuss's Pets. Being the only choice (odd for such a decent-sized town) they have a great selection, helpful staff, and the place is HUGE! As for the Grand Rapids area, Blue Fish Aquarium in Jenison is the best shop around. You'll find stuff there that you wouldn't see anywhere else, and they've got the best prices around. If you make it there tell them that Jason sent you all the way from Texas, they'll probably get a big kick out of that! Other than that you're stuck with VIPets, which is the local chain, and which only has 1 decent store, which is on Plainfield Ave.

Thanks for the info! I've been to a few places back in early June (when I decided to get back into the hobby). I have hit up Tropicorium and that place is really sweet. With their cheap prices and variety, makes me want to do a ric garden in my new tank I've made it to a few others but I have checked out Choice Aquariums also. That store is pretty nice and clean. There is also another one less than a minute from my work, which I believe is Fish Doctors? Its been awhile since I dropped by any of these since I had no tank to put stuff in. My tank is shipping soon so I am going to plan a LFS tour to get some live rock and RO/DI!

I ran by Kee's this afternoon. Very pleased with what I saw over there. Picked up some sand, salt, a Algea Free Piranha, and a refractometer. Great place for frags and colonies. Thanks for the heads up!
