    Default Power consumption

Is there a such thing as a calculator to figure out the power consumption of my aquarium equipment? Im curious to know how much of my electric bill goes towards my aquarium. Its only my wife and I and the only things in the house on all the time are my aquarium equipment and a work computer.

Just total up the wattage of your tank items. If it gives amps instead of watts, just remember Ohm's law: watts = volts x amps - volts should be 110...

A KWH is a kilowatt hour, or 1000 watts for an hour.

Just figure out what CPS is charging you on average for a KWH.

Same thing will work with what Bill said.

Don't forget the power factor. For mag ballast use .8 and .9 for electronic (250 x 1.2 for mag) and remember va is apparent power, watts is true power. Hopefully CPS pulls there large fuel adjustment off after this month?
