Curing live rock
H ave some questions for those that know about curing live rock. I have mostly bought live rock that was in an established tank already, so I am somewhat unsure about curing it myself. Also, the couple times I have cured it, was just in a rubber bin with a power head.
Questions are:
whats the easiest way to rid of possible mantis shrimp and unwanted hitchhikers?
Is curing the rock in a new tank set-up without live stock ok?
Anyone had any good experiences with live rock ordered online, as this is the way I will have to be getting mine.
Any other opinions of advice would be great!

for unwated hitchhikers I would lay down a towel place the rock on top and spray with fresh water for a few seconds. This usually promps what evers in to come out. Yes you can cure rock in a tank, but imo its better outside of the aquarium simply because you do not have to do as many water changes to the display at first. Many order rock off line; depending on whom and where the rock comes from you can get some really cool hitchhikers. My only opinion would be to cure like you have done in the past the tub or trashcan method with powerhead and water changes.

I also agree, what works for me is to cure live rock in a 30 g rubbermaid trash can with a powerhead in a dark area to avoid any algae bloom.
Good luck with your rock.

trashcan with powerhead works well.
I ordered live rock from premium aquatics, is very good stuff, came air freight (relatively cheap), very little die off.
