    Red face Adding coral??

I have a fairly new 29g biocube and was wondering how often can I add coral. I have 2 clowns (been in about 1 month), a watchman gobie (been in 1 week), and on this past monday I added 2 corals (leather, and green star polyp. I really want to add some mushrooms but not sure if it would be okay to add them tomorrow or should I wait a little bit? My water levels are great and have been steady.

    pH 8.2
    ammonia-0
    nitrate-0
    nitrite-0
    Ca-420
    Phos-0.5
    kH-8

    Thanks,
    Deanna

Things have been really stable. Other than having low Ca for a few weeks...I've had these exact numbers! "Knocking on wood now!!!" So corals don't add to the bio-load of the tank like fish do? Now I'm getting excited!!!

Corals do add to the bioload, you just dont have too much in there yet. A Ca on low side is fine with what you have and have planned.

I would remove the leather from that small of a tank.... It could nuke it.

Corals that have done well in the past in new tanks; GSP, Mushrooms, Kenyan Tree, Candy Cane. Leathers can sometimes be troublesome.

So what do I have to do to keep this leather happy? I in no way want my tank nuked! Will I know if it's not happy?

It's not that you want to keep it happy, it's just a risk. It's like a sea apple, you can keep it happy, and then it dies..... Ask me how I know.

Hummm...I'll have to ask my LFS tomorrow about this. If it's putting my tank at risk maybe they'll take it back and let me get another one!
