Koralia maintenance

Hey, there! I've got a Koralia 2 in my tank to help with a dead spot. I've had it about 6 mos now, but it seems that its output is about half of what it was when I first installed it. I can see where the intake grills have gotten gummed up a bit. Does anyone have any other suggestions for maintenance while I'm working on it?

Id simply take it out, take the cover off and take out the impellor. Soak it in white vinegar for one hour, rinse well and you will be good to go.

Never had to soak mine, usually whatever is on there can be cleaned off with a brush. Soaking in vinegar will help if it is coated with coraline algae, but that is not what usually slows it down. As stated, take the cover/front grill off and then slide the impeller/blade unit out. Use a tooth brush or other cleaning brush to scrub the junk off of the impeller, blades, and inside the whole where the impeller slides into. Scrub the gunk off of the grills/housing as well. Rinse it all out and you should be good.

Becareful not to loose the small o-ring behind the impeller when taking it apart.. It will cause vibration and noise.
