    Default T-5 Ballast placement

I'm wiring up a T-5 HO retrofit kit that came with Vossloh Schwabe ballasts but the instructions don't say where a safe place to install them is. I was just going to srew them to the back of my stand but I started to wonder if they would get hot enough to cause a fire. Would I be o.k. if I just screwed them to the back of the stand or is there a better way?

I would appreciate any advice you have to offer.

    Thanks,

    Diron

I have mine on the back of my canopy. They will be fine on the back of your stand.

If you have room, mount them on the back/top of your canopy above water level. If there was a water related problem, I would not want them in an area that might have the potential of getting wet.

Agree with princer. Better to keep them from getting splashed on.

Thanks, I took your advice and mounted them on the top back of canopy. Everything is fired up and looks nice.

Sorry a little late with this one, but I add washers in-between the ballast and wood to create an air space to help keep the ballast cool.
