Dead algae?
Well about 3 weeks ago or so I started running a reactor for phosban. I think its helping but am not sure. What does algae look like as its dieing. Ive notice long string strands of red algae all of a sudden on my sand bed and foam structure in the tank. Is this dieing algae from running phosban or a whole new problem. Its not thick like cyno which grows thick usually, just several long then strand blowing around in the flow of the tank. My fuge has none of this, only the main display.

it may be a little bit of cyano. remember, any time you change something on your tank, there is the possibility of a mini cycle as things balance out again. maybe as your other algae is dying off, it is releasing things that the cyano is using. be patient, keep up with your maintenance and im sure everything will be cleared up in no time
