Tank soaking?

I have a 20g long that has been soaking for a day in water and vineager, and I am wondering how long it needs to be out. It had some fish (freshwater) 2 years ago, and was cleaned then and has been sitting since. I just wanted to make sure all the dust and stuff was out. Is 1 day good time for just that?

We let ours soak for a day or two and just made sure we rinsed it out thoroughly.
