Lighting problems...
It has been a long time since I was last active but my tank has been running relatively well lately. I have been having high Calcium is all and I have added no chemicals at all and all stats are in good condition. So I have not really been around.
So now I have an issue. My lights went out yesterday. I was running 2x96W PC and one of them went out. It was a brand new bulb so it kind of sat odd. When I switched the connectors well I killed the other bulb. So I am pretty sure something is wrong with the wiring or the ballast. (It was a DIY done almost 4-5 years ago.)
It is a 55 gallon (long) tank and I am trying to find new lights. I am not sure if I wanna just fix mine or see what is out there for it. I have checked the sale area and saw a Coralife 4x64W fixture that is now long gone but will that work for me?
Currently in the tank I have 3 mushrooms and I just bought 2 frags of I think Flowerpot liverock. (Currently deep purple liverock with polops all over it that are suppose to open up and make green grass. (Can you tell I know what I am talking about?) Someone there showed it to me though at Aquatech.) I also think it may have a SP frag attached to it.
Would 4x64W Coralife setup be good for that? Does anyone in the Austin Area have any lighting they wish to part with?
TY

Man if you can get that, your lighting would be perfect.

T5 lighting
I will be honest I do not know anything about this and am looking for a good document to read on it. Will it provide good crisp whites like a 10k bulb? Do I just run "T5" bulbs in it and no "blue" bulb and things like that?

Concur with Erik, the Tek-Light would be perfect for your tank.

T5's work just like you power compacts! The colors are all the same! You just have alot more colors to choose from! This light would be awesome on your tank! They are one of the best made! It comes with 7 bulbs, so you could switch them around to get the colors/brightness you want!
