Ecotech Marine
I purchase two Gen2 vortechs through an online retailer. One pump did not function when I received it. I contacted the retailer and they said that Ecotech handles all those issues. I sent the pump in and a week later received a call that the pump had water damage..(my tank is sitting empty right now because of a seal coming loose).. THIS WAS A NEW, NEVER USED OUT OF THE BOX PUMP THAT I HAVE NEVER USED. now, i tell them I'm not paying to have a new pump ive never used repaired.. It has been three days with zero contact from Ecotech Marine. I have had to file a dispute with my credit card company. just wanted everyone to know the level of service you can expect when dealing with Ecotech Marine. Feel free to copy this message to any local boards you frequent..My next step will be the Cosumer Advocacy Law firm.. I'm not going to pay $500 for a pump I don't have.

two weeks and countless emails later, Ecotech has reluctantly agreed to repair this pump and send it back to me, this is all I was asking to begin with. Marine Depot, however has Been outstanding at helping me take care of this Issue. They have contacted me are are going above and beyond to make things right,,

When you spend that much money on a known high quality piece of equipment, you expect exceptional customer service. I am sorry it wasnt there when it should have been. I have bought much stuff from marine depot and have been happy with them as a retailer.

water damage from where? the only part that gets water damage is the motor, which says in the manual not to do. did marine depot send you one like that?
i agree that ecotech's service isn't great. people always say its the best but they prefer you email them than make a scene on reef central under the sponsor forums
i emailed them a week ago because one of my vortech's began making an usual rattle, and no matter how much i aligned it rattled. so i sent them email and they said they would take care of the problem just to send it back, but i didnt because for some reason it just stopped. i guess it could be a hit or miss with these guys
