you could use google sketchup! It's a GREAT program and there are some tutorials for it. It would make your tank 3D!

Brand new the ER-RS80 is 225 off their site's pricing www.euro-reef.com

You may want to try an octopus skimmer, I have yet to see a bad review on them... Keep your eyes peeled for something used if you are on a budget, that's your best bet.

Well I think I might go with octopus now. I have been reading all day (literally) and it sounds like these things are the best bet for me. I looked and price and productivity and these win either way. Now I just need to narrow down one. I will have a sump (<that i'm adding exclusively for the skimmer) so I want to get a sump model. Should I go for a model that is rated for triple the tank volume?

Just get the biggest possible skimmer that you can absolutely afford. I have a euroreef, it is a model in which they don't make anymore, but it is comparable to the rs 80. I LOVE IT!! Seriously, you never ever need to adjust anything on it. All you have to do is plug it in and you never really ever have to touch it again. All you have to do is watch it produce the most discusting gunk you have ever seen in your life!! It is very reliable, and I just checked the website, and for some reason, they are like two hundred and something dollars off the regular price!!!! I would jump on that!!! ThatS my 2 cents.
