Default Sump: Is 34"Lx12"Wx16"H too narrow?

I'm about to take the plunge and build a custom size acrylic sump because the doors in my cabinet limit the size of standard size sumps I can fit to smaller ones. Current is a standard 20gL. I did some calculations, and the most appealing compromise between length and width I found was 34Lx12Wx16H - volume of roughly 6500 cubic inches. For those of you who know about sumps, is that too narrow for any reason?

My skimmer will fit. All reactors are/will be external to sump. I plan to have 3 compartments with triple baffles separating them. Baffles will take up roughly 4" of the 34"Length. Skimmer section will take up 14"L. That leaves ~18"L to divide up between the center section (return) and the right section (fuge). Any suggestions on how to apportion that remaining 20"? Is there any other consideration I'm missing, that would make a width of only 12" a problem? Thanks in advance..

12" wide is fine. As long as you can fit the equipment you want in it the sump is doing what it is suppost to do. Add water volume and hold/hide equipment.

Thanks guys. After some thought, I should probably maximize the return section too, so as not to have to manually top off too often.. No ATO yet. :(
