Default Yellow Tang and Coral Beauty

I'm going to have to get fid of these guys in a month or two for a new tank, but their colors aren't what I have hoped. I feed them frozen every now and then, but stick to Formula two flakes and Formula one pellets and nori for the most part. The Yellow tang is a bit pale in the face at times and the Coral beauty is begining to loose color on his face. What could I do to improve their colors a bit? I heard broccoli is good, and zuchini, but what else can I feed them out of the fridge? Thanks

I would try more frozen, and see if it helps.

When I got my yellow tang, he was pretty malnourished. When you looked at him from the front, he was hollowed out along the spine. I started clipping 1" x 6" strips of dried nori every day. About a month later, he was nice and plump. When you look at him from the front now, he's nice and round. My coral beauty likes to nibble at the nori, too (and my blue jaw trigger LOVES the stuff - go figure...). Granted, the clips aren't the ideal in aesthetics, but nothing I've fed my tang has helped like the nori, and it brightened his color, too.

    Hope that helps,
    Derry

I have found that the better the diet your fish have the better their colors will be. Flake and pellets may be fine to mix in but Not as their main staple of food. A better food source would be frozen mysis, krill, clams, squid, cyclops (zoo plankton), nori, brine shrimp, and romaine lettuce to name a few. Try it, you and your fish will be happy you did.

Well I think I found out that it could be an aggressive fish in my tank.

This is the Behn's Damselfish I think could be contributing to my tangs color by pestering it. Who knows but i will be selling him now.
