    Question New tank monitoring...

Well my new 29g biocube has had water and 30lbs of cured live rock in it for 2 days now. I was playing with my new test kits and this is what I got...
    Salinity 36
    SG 1.027
    Ammonia 0
    Nitrite 0
    Nitrate 0
    pH 7.6
    Ca 400
    KH 10dkh
    Phosphate 0.25
    Temp- 76.8
I also noted some green algae on one of my rocks. It's kind of looks like green carpet!
This is my first reef tank so I'm not sure what to do now. To me it looks like my Salinity and SG are too high and my pH is too low. I'm not sure what to think about the algae!! Any words of wisdom out there for a newbie!!

    Thanks,
    Deanna

I personally would not worry about it, since it only 2 days old. It should takes any where between 4-6 weeks for your tank to go thru the full cycle. You will have a couple things that will be out of whack while the tank is going thru it's cycle ..And what is salinity 36?
Reefing is just like cooking, all the ingredients have to be just right , except you don't have to bring the water to a BOIL...

Thanks for the info! On my hydrometer one reading is for SG and the other Salinity. I'm assuming it's the salt level in the water?! The meter shows that it should be 28-32.

I think the other salinity number is your tempeture (in celsius).

Salinity is just fine. It's supposed to be around 34-36ppm and 1.025-1.027. Like mentioned earlier, it's only been 2 days and I wouldn't worry about it. You'll probably see those ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates levels rise and fall as the tank cycles.

Since you're using a refractometer it has ppm on one side and specific gravity on the other.
