Will They Survive?

This weekend I bought two Canary Wrasses. I didn't think that I had any fish in my tank that would bother them, but my Sixline Wrasse decided to be a bully.

When I put both of them in the tank after acclimating them everything seemed to be fine. They swam around for about five minutes then went under the sand. After about an hour they emerged from the sand only to get jumped by my Sixline Wrasse. The smaller of the two Canary Wrasses took quite the beating but I'm optimistic that it will survive. The damage that the Sixline Wrasse caused seems to be only localized to dorsal fin and a gill plate.

The Canary Wrasses have been hiding in the sand since I got them on Friday. They left the sand for a little while today and ate a bit, even the beat up one.

Will the Sixline Wrasse eventually accept the Canary Wrasses as tank mates or if they will most likely die?

Wrasses can be very territorial especially with their own kind. If you can catch it I would remove it for a couple days to let the canary wrasse's settle in then add it back. If not it may bully the other wrasses. Wrasses can get very stressed out if other too long.

I doubt the 6 line will tolerate them if the aquarium is too small

X2 I've only had luck with multiple wrasses (or is it wrassi? ) when the tank was large and the hiding places numerous.

I've got plenty of hiding places and there should be plenty of room. The Canary Wrasses seem to either be in the sand or near the surface of the water. They usually get corralled into into the upper corner by the Sixline Wrasse.

I'm trying to find a way to catch the Sixline Wrasse but he's a smart little fish. I've been able to catch my Chromis and a Canary Wrasse with the trap I've devised by the Sixline Wrasse just isn't falling for the trap.

I'm considering putting the Sixline Wrasse in my sump for a few days. My sump is mostly empty and the pump and skimmer have guards that are over the input. I think he'll be safe in there for a few days. Would that be a good place for him?

That's what I'd do IF you can catch him....
