    Haha, no that is why you dont jump a Walmart mountain bike. My bike will take 6 foot drops like no tomorrow. It is kind of like what they say about reefing. You get what you pay for, but spending less money could mean a trip to the hospital, not just cash out of pocket.

    Now that's totally wrong singling out WalMart...They don't make their own bikes...they don't always purchase the best but they have paid half my families bills for the last 15 yrs.

    A buddy and I were riding bikes as kids and I looked over because I could hear some crackling in his voice other than puberty. We were going down a pretty steep hill and for whatever reason, the welds that held the frame of his bike had seperated. Needless to say, he ate some dirty pavement.

    I've got a Trek Fuel EX8 which is by no means a downhill bike but i've taken some 4 foot drops with it at high speed with no probs, it's scary at first but it keeps on going. That bike just isn't made for that.
