ocean pollution
terible how people can let this happen.
they will pay for this one day, we all will.
when they destroy our reefs, the ocean food chain will colapse.

Gotta watch your sources, but yeah that's pretty nasty. CNN had a good article last week about the destruction of the Carribean reefs.

Gross.
I hope it wasn't being done when I lived there, and I certainly wish they'd change it now. I often wonder how much of the world's reef decline is related to "global warming", when sewage is dumped instead of being properly treated, cyanide is dumped to catch reef fish, sun screen makes it way to corals, etc.

I saw a show not long ago that was documenting the wild life out in the Pacific Ocean islands and the amount of trash that has washed up on the shores of these islands, some only inhabited by animals, was astonishing to say the least. On some of the beaches you couldn't even see the sand. Countries dump so much trash in the ocean and the problem is that plastic not only floats, but it doesn't break down. The tides carry all the plastic for 100s and 1000s of miles and it ends up on these beaches. It was really sad.
