    Default chiller

never had a chiller before...got an amazing deal on the weekend from a company that maintains and sets up tanks selling their equipment off... i ended up with a 1/2 hp chiller....

i plugged it in before plumbing it and the display came on....i half expected it to i start running.... on the front is a display, an up and down button for temp and a set button, on the side an on/off switch and fuse....i moved the temp right down to 50 and still nothing... should it have come on or does it need water going through it to do so
    thanks

There could be some kind of delay timer on the start-up. Temp. plumb the unit into your system w/unit turned off. Then after turning it on, double check that the unit is reading the correct h2o temp. Then set your desired temp setting and give the unit a few minutes to come on.

I have a 1/2hp for mine and you have to have water running through it consistently for a while for the built in sensor to register a temp. Only when there's a real temp being registered will it kick off to bring it into tolerance. Be careful running it without any flow. You can freeze it up. Not sure how that works, but my understanding is that there are components that can freeze up and hose the chiller. My two cents..
