noxious softies

i love butterflyfish and angels.. my plan is to just keep my sps, lps and zoas in smaller tanks, and turn my 175g reef into a very specific reef...are there many nice looking noxious softies that can be kept ok...?

ive seen nice yellow leathers, i know carnations are hard to keep so have ruled them out... is there a good place to get unusually coloured noxious softies ?

im not against other stony corals if they wont get battered, i prefer them to softies tbh but the tank is more orientated to stocking the fish i want and corals second... i have heard hammers are pretty noxious

any suggestions as what corals to try?

You can keep Frogspawn, GSP, Mushrooms, Xenia wih no problem.

If you get large groupings of zoas before you add fish they can proliferate fast enough to keep up with whatever they eat, just don't buy anything too expensive.

Carpets are tricky and best to design the tank around them in my experience. Finding a healthy one and getting it established is hard enough without worrying about it nuking other corals or corals irritating it (more likely in a softy dominated tank).

If you go that route, then carbon is your friend.

carpets also like to shed tentacles which can stick to coral causing damage

hmmm...sounds like a carpet might be a tricky aquisition...

someone on rc was saying their imperator polished off everything in their tank inc. softies, ate the lot mushrooms, leathers the works....would a majestic be a better option?
