My big squamosa from Finaddict died b/c of that same thing. Get it a anename to host it, so it will leave the clam alone.
Reefing is just like cooking, all the ingredients have to be just right , except you don't have to bring the water to a BOIL...

clowns won't ever care. they love things to death. Make sure you buy a LARGE anemone as clowns grow pretty fast. Is there more than 1? Frogspawn, hammers leathers and some zoas work too.

Is your clown rubbing on the clam's mantle, or is it just hovering an inch or so over it?
I've got a pair of GSMs that have been hosting in my gigas with no ill effects to the clam. In fact they do a good job of dusting off any excess sand that might land on it.

the only bad thing if it isnt actually rubbing and physically irritating the clam..if it is constantly around it not allowing it to open up, then it wont receive any light..which it needs to live.

i too have had luck with clownfish hosting in euphyllia, but it has to be a decent sized colony in my experiance. they like to stay in between the branches.

I lost a very large clam when a panther grouper decided to host to the clam.
