Default Vortech or stay with tunze 6025s?

just wondering, but should i go with a vortech or stay with 2 modded 6025s for my fowlr?

i like being able to control the speed, the different modes it has, and being able to transfer the powerhead to whatever tank i want as long as the magnet wont fall off

downside is having it stuck on one of the side glass panes. the powerheads right now are on the back glass facing each other

I have three of theses on my tank, yes its overkill for a 90, but I have them on the back wall (Bowfront) instead of the sides (prefered Location). They have just come out with the Gen 2 upgraded software, which has even more features, the sync/anti-sync with lagoon crest is still my choice.

I like this company, each upgrade is backwards compatable and brings your pump up the most current model at a reasonable price during the upgrade period. For example the software upgrade is free, you just pay for shipping up and back. And the new magnet kit is $10 plus shipping.

They are expensive, but you will not be disappointed, in the product or customer service.

thanks wesheltonj, they do sound awesome. i was looking at the tunze wavebox but the one right now is too large and expensive, i know theyre coming out with a smaller one. i saw a youtube video of the wave the vortech made and liked it. im going to look into getting the vortech, see if my other half doesnt kill me

oh yeah, i wanted to ask, will the powerhead be loud? is this any good for a fowlr? id think the fish would love it, especially since they wont have a continous type of flow all day, like right now

They are loud the first two days, after they are broken in they are very quite if properly aligned. If not properly aligned, they are very loud. It takes very slight movements to get proper alignment and it takes practice. Make sure you get the cover, if you have a sick fish this thing can and will pull it into the blades.

Mounted on the sides walls this can and will make a wave that will go over the tank, be careful.

You can change the flow type to whatever you like: big wave, little wave, constant speed, variable speed.
