Cool pics. I went to the White Sands National Park when I was a kid and did some work a few years ago at the military's White Sands Missile Range. All I remember is there is a whole lot of nothing out there! I've wanted to visit the Grand Canyon, flown over it a few times and driven over Hoover Dam a few times as well while working in the Las Vegas area. It's always neat to see a different kind of terrain/landscape than what you are used to. People here get excited over the hill country here, but seeing mountains and canyons like that is awesome.

I grew up in LC (Mesilla, actually... about 1/4 mile from the Billy the Kid gift shop you posted pics of). I don't like LC that much anymore. It's growing too fast, but they really won't upgrade the infrastructure, so getting around is more and more of a pain everytime we go see my parents. Did you go eat at La Posta while you were in Mesilla? Used to be the best Mexican in town, very different from what we get here in SA. Haven't been there in years, so I hope it hasn't gone down the tubes!

I must say, however, that you just can't beat a Las Cruces sunset. Albuquerque has some nice ones, but not like LC!

We did eat at La Posta and it was great. Everywhere you go in New Mexico even Mc Donals serves Red or Green Chili. The Mexican food is diffrent; from what I understand much closer to actual Mexican "Mexico" food.

Man, that reminds me of when I was waiting tables at La Posta... We had a group of tourists come in, and this lady decides she wants enchiladas. Ok lady, no problem, "Would you like red or green chile?" No kidding, "What other colors does it come in?"

I nearly died when I came here, and most people call it, "gravy."

LOL, well we loved it. My wife and I are spicy food people so the red chili hit the spot.

Awesome! I'm going to have to go back next time we're in town! Glad you had a good time in LC. The canyon looks really cool, I've never been there for some reason...
