Thread: Honda Shadow Spirit 750 a good bike?

  1. #1

Default Honda Shadow Spirit 750 a good bike?

Good for a beginner anyway? Friend of mine at work offered to sell me his. I've been wanting a bike for a few years but I don't know anything about them. Figured I'd check here and make sure this isn't equivalent to riding a moped or something... I don't want the Harley guys to laugh at me. LOL

harley guys will laugh at you unless you are riding a harley. i ride a vulcan 750, and it seems to be a good bike for a beginner (it is my first street bike). i have a cousin with a shadow and he really likes it.

Most bike less than 800cc are good for beginners. Anything bigger might be too intimidating. You want to develop good riding skills and a small to medium size bike will make it easier for you to learn. I ride a suzuki volusia 800. I recommend going to a motorcycle training class. It's worth it for the insurance discount alone.

    Too late for that!
Actualy, it doesnt look like a half bad a bike, kinda looks like a Sportster knock-off. I havent read all the specs but by looks alone it should be a fun bike to ride,,, just be carefull out there...

I was just doing some work yesterday at the new Cowboy Honda in Kyle and they had some really nice looking bikes. Seems a lot of people are looking at motorcycles now due to gas prices.

I rode a Honda Shadow Ace 750cc for about 4 years, and it was a very good motorcycle. Like the guy said, take a safety class; those that do have 90% less accidents than those who don't. Take the class and always, always, always, drive defensively.

Oh, and some are going to hate this, but I personally don't like Harleys. I feel like I driving in a height chair made of tin.

It's funny that I saw this post. I am selling a 2003 Honda Shadow 750 American Classic Edition. I am getting it checked over at Alamo Cycleplex right now, and I will be posting it here on MAAST just as soon as I get it back.

It is an OUTSTANDING bike. Tons of fun to ride, good sound, awesome styling and looks. I, too, want a Harley someday, but that will be a ways down the road, no pun intended.
