Thanks for posting that Kristy. Sounds really cool. Would there be some kind of log to track what has gone where? I am definitely into supporting this idea, both with corals and however else I can. I read this article in the free magazine a week or so ago and was excited to hear about it...it would be really cool if we all pulled together something similar down here.

I think this is an innovative idea. One of these days I'll have some frags that I'll gladly contribute...the oldest frag in my tank right now is only 2.5 months old.

I understand your concerns BB, but as far as the risk of parasites and disease goes...we take that risk any time we buy a frag. I actually feel much more comfortable accepting corals here rather than in the stores as I know it's been in a reputable tank "QT'ing" for me for quite some time. We could probably make it a stipulation that MAAST isn't liable for the frag and that involvement in the program is at your own risk. If someone doesn't take the proper precautions when receiving a coral...that shouldn't be considered MAAST's fault.

I say let's just rip theirs off.

I can likely also donate a RBTA or 2, too.

If we need a moderator, or cordinator, or whatever for this program I would gladly do it.

The comas format looks good. It seems simple and fair. Good find.

So I suppose this would be something the board needs to vote on in order for us get started? Any input as to how that would work (timeline if it is approved, etc.)

We are currently discussing the possibility of a program like this. I will keep everyone posted.
