I have a 2.5 pico started up a couple weeks ago, peppermint shrimp already survive in it lol. I am acctually going to build a mini canister filter for mine!

I set one up and used sand and water from my main tank and some live rubble from my fuge, and it was ready to go. water evap is a pain though.

I put 4 lbs of uncured Walts rock in mine and cured it in there over a month. After 2 weeks I added one of the small bags of live sand. After the month was up, I added a yellow watchman, and 2 mushrooms. After another month passed I added a peppermint shrimp. I also added mexican turbo, 2 nass snails, and a 2 blue legs. Hard tank to maintain, shrooms hate it because I don't keep up with it. I only do weekly water changes, and bi-daily top offs-ro/di. Ideally, I would setup a 10 gallon fuge in a stand for this thing. The worst thing about this thing is the best thing about it also. All the glass is curved. Good looking, but hard to clean!
    30L w/10gallon sump 4xt5ho; Up and running:125g long, 30g sump, 50g fuge.
