Two Purple Tangs...anyone?
Anyone ever put two PT together? Well, I bought a new Purple Tang and was going to move my smaller one to my wife's tank but could not catch him last night after several hrs of trying. So, I needed to put the new one in the tank. With plenty of worries, I added him anticipating a fury of #*%#!#$%%& to come but they look to be schooling...swimming together. The new one is 6.5" and the other is 4.5" Anyone ever see this before? Pretty cool...

That's cool BB! My two yellows school around, but they have small little fights, but only for like 30 seconds at a time. They never nip, just flare their fins out and whip their scalpels at each other.

Ive heard, as long as you put them in how you did. Have the smaller one first, then put the larger one in. Ive heard that usually works for mating a pair as well.

I have placed a couple of purple tangs in the same tank and they did fine. In my personal tank I have 2 yellows, i sailfin, 2 hippo's, and adding an atlantic blue as well as an achillies. I did have a powder brown in there at one time but it lasted 3 minutes as I placed it in the tank, it went out of its way to swim and snuggle in a long tentacle. Personally I think it road the short bus to school. DUMB FISH!!!! All in all I have a total of 24 fish in the tank.
