    Default installing ozonizer

After Fenner's talk I have decided to try out ozone.
Have the equipment: ozonizer, ORP controller, ORP probe.

Need: Air pump, ozone safe check valve, ozone safe Tee, ozone safe tubing, carbon, etc.

All easy to find except for an ozone safe Tee..........cant find one. Have read you need one and regular airline tubing Tee's wont last when exposed to ozone.

Any ideas regarding locating the ozone safe Tees. Know they are available, but cant find one.

    Mark,

I'm in the SAME boat - if you recollect, Bob targeted me directly...

Anyway, I'm going to use the standard plastic Ts you get from HD, for now. Once I see how quickly/badly the O3 tears things up, I'll go from there.

Just make sure you check things regularly, they get brittle with O3.

BTW, which ozonizer did you go with?

I found a great deal on a red sea deluxe 100mg/hr.
I saw on another forum someone that had an ozone specific Tee, but cant get a response about it.

I bought the Ultrazone 360. I was afraid of the chinese-made cheap ones, especially after caferacermike's tank meltdown last year.

I will just chime in and let you know that you can use KYNAR plastic as it holds up very well when ozone is introduced.

Here is a website you can find tees and other parts at:

    http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/pro...duct%5Fid=6360

You can find KYNAR tubing at the following website:

    http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/pro...duct%5Fid=7770

Although the fittings do not say OZONE Resistant, they are.

    Hope this helps.

caferacermike's tank meltdown seems to have been a isolated event not connected to the unit itself as I have continued using the O3 generator just as I always had been and nothing else has seemed to go wrong. The incident is still makes me wonder how and why.
