    Default petco

I know I saw a thread about this but I can not find it. I went into petco and seen this yellow tang all bones fines all mest up. I ask the employee what was up why he was not in a quarentine tank he said he is fine just not eating. Well the manager walked by so I asked him he said he is eating fine and there is nothing wrong. I have a picure if any one wants to see. This was very sad I called petco coorporate. Any other suggestions this was real sad for all the fish. It was the petco in hancock center austin the manager jeff said he had no intentions on seperating them( he did not to seem to care at all any one else wants to complain or tell him personalypetco 512 8927816 make sure it is hanc=ock center.. So if any one knows who I should contact its worth the trouble this was a sick fish in the tank with other for sale fish. You know all the guy had to say is he does look bad maybe i should seperate him. I saw antohe rcomplaint on here yestersday and now its gone so if i should not have wrote this please twll me and i will delete it ( im going to try fox 7) It was just sad.

ummm as far as pet stores go... petco doestn't sell puppies or cats, they help adpot, i like them. i've also seen worse lfs. I've never got fish there though.

if people keep buying stuff from them then they will keep selling.

Yes, many lfs are just as guilty as Petco, but I'd bet money that a majority of those type of stores don't stay open very long. We hobbyists know which stores to patron and which to avoid like the plague!

Many of our sponsors encourage their employees to seek the knowledge and know-how that is needed to provide humane care for their livestock. Not to mention that many of the workers at our sponsors are hobbyists themselves! Plus a smaller store can't afford to lose 50%-75% of their livestock before it's even sold. The situation at Petco just goes to show organizations like MAAST that there is still a lot of work to do when it come to educating the public!

Here's the link from a previous thread on this topic and has a petition for anyone that wants to sign it:

i do agree many fish stores sell not knowing what the heck they have or how to care for it. the only thing is petco and many other pet stores that sell other things besides fish make most of there money from other things like dog items, cat items, small animals, and birds will always be in business becasue they have other things to fall back on even if they get dead fish that is not what makes the store successful.
