It will be the Suns in the first round...this will be an all out war. Make no mistake , Steve Kerr, the GM of the Suns, traded for Shaq to beat us. If Tim stops playing like its the young Shaq and use his quickness against him he will dominate him. If not, it might be a long series.

Nope, he had a great little streak but he had to do it in order to save them from losing to an inferior team who wasn't even at full strength.

why does everybody hate kobe? he is the best in the league right now, no questions asked..doesnt matter what a players personality is off the court..its how they play each game..and kobe is just the best now..with gasol and odom and a decent supporting bench..i think they'll end up routing all other teams chances to get to the finals...and then beat the celtics..its what everyone wants to see and its what'll happen..

Everyone does not hate Kobe, there are Laker fans you know.

There is plenty of reasons not to like him. He did ( admittingly ) cheat on his wife. You can start there. Then he bought here off with a new ring. ( loser ).

He also let his ego get in the way and broke up the Shaq-led championship team...although I am glad he did that.

Other than that, he seems to be a great guy. When I said that he would cry again, I was refering to when the Spurs knocked the Lakers out of the playoffs several years ago and Kobe was crying on the court.

He is not the unquestioned best player in the NBA. Labron is just as good, if not better. You can make the case for him being in the top three for sure.

Of all those players you mentioned only Kobe plays defense, and he cannot do it on his own. When the playoffs start , you will see why the teams that play defense will advance past the second round. The Lakers will not be routing anyone...athough their first round match up should be a high scoring , non Defense playing series.

Oh and if they do happen to get to the finals...the Celtics would destroy them...bad.

That was much more impressive last night against Utah. Sac was out two players, Ron Artest being one of them and they came close to beating SA... Phoenix will be a heck of a fight, probably the toughest series they'll have. I just hope nobody gets injured in this first round, Spurs should take it in 6 I would think but will be quite beat up in the process. I really enjoyed watching Barry come in and shoot 100% last night, really gets his and his team mates' confidence up.

As for Kobe, I agree with Don. Lebron, though he hasn't led his team to a championship, is just so impressive to watch him play and handle the ball. Kobe is obviously fantastic, but I wouldn't say he's the undisputed best player in the league.

Barry is great, and I am glad we have him back. His shot reminds me of Steve Kerr. Completely mechanical, and just about as close to text book as you can get. Kobe is a GREAT player, but it has been his egomanical attitude that has so far destroyed his career. He should have a ring on every finger but it has been his attitude that has made him unlikeable, even by his own teammates. If your team does not like you, you will never win anything together.

Don is exactly correct, especially about the bench coming on the floor to accelerate a loss. Pop knows EXACTLY what he is doing, and this is his game of chess. While we look to individual games for a win, he sees the bigger picture, and it's his judgement that has put as where we are.

I agree also, Joshua...I think Spurs in 6...and hopefully not physically beat up...just heard on 5 o'clock news that there is already trash talking in Phoenix...especially on Bowen. What a first round! Could be a "Finals" series in itself.

Nice seeing Barry back also...great boost for the team and MY MAN Manu...held my breath everytime he went for the basket. Pop looked pretty nervous too. Looked like the Spurs I know. Great to be excited again.
