Thread: T5 user's beware!

  1. #1

    Default T5 user's beware!

Just an FYI, clean your reflectors with aluminum polish pre-use to keep salt spray from spoting the reflectors. The polish seems to have a silicone base which acts as a protectant against spray. This only apply's to those using retro's without a shield.

Hmmmm...good stuff. I was just looking at mine and thinking that they should be cleaned. Despite being a safe distance off the top of the tank they are starting to accumulate a bit of salt on them. Which polish do you use?

I think it's more of the slickness of the polish that he is referring to. That can be found in any metal polish that you buy at the store. It has an oily consistency, maybe cornoil would work? It would probably make your T5s smell like popcorn, lol.

well that definitely makes sense, being that oil won't mix with water. good advice and thanks for pointing that out!
