    Default Live Rock Help!

ok so we were talking to aquatek a few weeks back about trading live rock, mostly because we would buy live rock piece by piece because we're broke college students. well one day we had a mini avalanche so we wanted to get just one main rock so that this wouldn't happen again. anyways... i thought that we were gonna be able to trade it out pound for pound to get a larger rock; but after calling today before heading up there they said it would be half the weight of what our rock is towards the new rock. of course this is something we cannot afford to do so would anybody have an idea of where we could go to just trade pound for pound? we have some pretty cool pieces and some have good color and growth (not all), but we would like to just go with a solid to make thing easier. any ideas? any suggestions would be much appreciated! thanks, steven.

    Welcome to MAAST!

If you are looking to save money, try using clear acrylic rod and drilling holes in your existing rock to 'piece' it together like you want and keep it from shifting. You might also look into some dry rock (Reef Bones or the like) as it is less expensive than live rock.

I don't know any LFS that would simply trade their rock for yours pound for pound. What's in it for them?
Custom Acrylic 180g RR, acrylic sump, 45BR frag tank, 18g fuge, 250+/- lbs LR, Euro Reef CS8-2, 10x39W T5, softies, LPS, and a few SPS.
