    Default Bubble algae

So I managed to have a huge algae break out while I was slowly setting up my tank. I thought it was a form of cyano. Since I've added the skimmer it doesn't seem to have spread any more. Now that I've hooked up my new lights...I've got little bubbles all over the place. I can only assume that they are oxygen bubbles being released from the algae due photosynthesis. I used to see this from my plants when I had this tank set up as a FW planted. I've never seen algae do this though...is it normal?

Now, is this an indication that it is thriving/growing?
