Default Does anyone in Austin still sell Oceanics?

I am noticing a big trend towards DSA tanks at the shops I visit. Does anyone still carry Oceanic as their primary line?

Many shops can get them but why? The dealio as I understand it is that a huge conglomerate bought Oceanic to add to the general "PetSmart" type of lineup that they carry. The name and some of the workers were transferred to the All-Glas facility in MI. The tanks are much more mass produced and now cost an arm and a leg to ship to TX. The reason why DSA are being stocked is that, and correct me if I'm wrong, a handful of the original Oceanic workers set up shop in Dallas and therefore you are getting as good or better than old Oceanic without the shipping costs.

    Default Oceanic Tanks

Oceanic Mfg Was Purchased By All-glass Aquariums And All Production Was Transfered To Wisconsin, Aga Was Purchased By Central Pet- A Large Distribution Chain. Oceanic Brand Has Gone Back To Their Basics And Now Concentrates On More Top-end Equipment While The Second Line Will All Be Under The Aqueon Label. Some Of The Oceanic People Did Not Want To Move To Wi. And Formed Deep Sea Aquatics In The Dallas Area. There's No Excess Freight Compared To Deep Sea But There Can Be A Significant Time Lag Depending On The Size Of Tank. Any Lfs Can Get Any Oceanic Item Fairly Easily, But As I Said The Oceanic Branded Line Has Shrunk Considerably And You May Be Forced To Get You Tank Under A Different Label.

I have ordered two DSA tanks and have had them both in my hands within two days. In fact, the last one I ordered through River City was here in one day (thanks Misti, Carlos and crew!). I can't say enough great things about their tanks or their staff/company. I've spoken with Jerry a number of times and has always gone out of his way to answer my questions, even when they are super-busy.
