    Default Water Parameters

    Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to make sure I have everything in order for my first frags that I'll be getting this weekend. I plan on keeping simple things initially...mostly softies.

My tank has been up and running since November. It has 180 lbs of LR and 150 lbs of Aragonite sand. I just used every test kit I have and want to fine tune anything that requires it before this weekend.

    Ammonia - 0
    Nitrite - 0
    Nitrate - Around 5ppm
    Ph - Around 8.1
    Phosphate - 0 on my scale...but I'm sure it's in there
    CA - 340-360 mg/L
    KH - 11 dKH or 197 ppmKH

I have B-Ionic and a Kent Magnesium supplement as well...though I'm not sure if it's appropriate to add those right now. I'm also brewing a new batch of water as I'm typing this. I'm using Reef Crystals now....before I was using SeaChem's Instant Ocean.

Right now I'm still battling the algae...I'd like to think it's getting better though.

    Any input is greatly appreciated.

    R, Jamie

looks good except for Nitrates, they are not bad but I would get that # down just a bit before putting any stonies in,, do you have a good skimmer? what about a fuge?

Yeah...I can't seem to get rid of the last few ppm of Nitrates. I have a nice skimmer. I think the big difference will be when my bioballs are removed from the wet/dry portion of my sump...right now I'm in the process of getting rid of them.
