i am setting up a tank andcycleing it. It is a 30 g propergation tank 19 inches deep drilled i have a crappy hang on tyhe back filter. my questioni s the over flow goes to bio balls sitting on top of the sump underneathethe bioballs is just water then there is glass and then the return. I plan to add a extra compartment for a protein skimmer. I have some live sand i want to add before it goes bad i just drained the other tank. should i put the sand right under the bioballs?
