If not go to a Glass company and have them cut you a few peices of the size you want and put those plastic things between them to open the glass. You can find those plastic peices at most LFS' if not Darby's in New Braunfels I know has them.

I know this. but Im lazy, and would like to see if someone else has one. I know where to get all the extra parts, hinges etc. but if some one has an extra glass top laying around, Ill take it off their hands. thats all. it just ****es me off that all the fish I want are jumpers. thanks.

you should put some barb wire at the top,..that'll teach them to jump

Better than a glass top, use egg crate.... Cut it out to the size you need.... I think its like $10 for a huge peice at Home Depot.

^thats exactly what Im going to do. so I guess what Im trying to say is: excellent suggestion. I was just trying to see if anyone had a glass top lying around before I go out and buy the egg crate. I know fish can still jump through that, but so long as I get bigger (jumping) fish, Id feel better about it. I think Im still going to wait a little before I buy the egg crate, but Ill update this thread as soon as I buy it. thanks for all the responses. except for moe's, his was just stupid. :P

Most likely any fish you get wont jump straight up, so even if they are smaller, they can barely fit through the eggcrate... I would use that over a glass top anyday, so there is some venting off the water. That should help with heat issues too. If you are using Metal Halides, be careful, make sure you have them about a foot above it as they put off some heat!

No metal halides here, its a fowlr and the fluorescent light sits right on top of the center brace. but I dont anticipate any heat issues as the light is never hot. but what do you know, as soon as I posted the reply to this thread, I got the PM; "I have a couple tops laying around etc..." Told you so. luckily I haven't cut the crate yet so thats no big deal, but I knew that was going to happen. *doh*
