Nice pics! I started in freshwater tanks as well, mostly barbs, loaches, and cory cats. That lead me to change over to saltwater. After I quit the saltwater hobby for awhile I hated not having a tank and the sound of water in the house so I ended up setting up an old 29g sump as a freshwater planted tank with mostly tetras. It sits in my bedroom and while it has been mostly ignored since I started up the 45g reef tank, I still enjoy laying in bed watching my freshwater fish! I was never into cichlids, but I do have to say that I find it amazing how dedicated cichlid keepers are to replicating the specific natural environments for their species of fish. You don't see that to anywhere near the same extent in saltwater tanks or other types of freshwater fish. Hope that made sense! LOL
