    Default Help with a Maroon

What are some helpful hints with keeping a gold stripe maroon clown in my tank. I have had him for a month and eveything has been fine till the last two weeks. I had a coral beauty die I had for about a year. Well I replaced him and had no ill effects, the maroon left the new guy alone. Well I have been wanting something with color for the tank so I added a yellow coris wrasse to tank last weekend. Well as soon as I added him to the tank that maroon made is presence known to him and started picking on him. Well I came home yesterday and didn't see him out. Well I found him this morning at the bottom of the tank, very much dead. I knew they are aggressive but I didn't think they where that bad. I have had my share of clown fish and I wanted something hardier and diffeernt this time. Thats why I went with the maroon. So what are my options, keep him, trade him, or sell him??

I've heard that Maroons are rowdiest of all the clowns. Sounds like he may have settled in and is taking care of his "space". What size of tank do you have him in?

maroons and clarkiis are pretty beligerent, but if there's enough room in the tank, it can work out...
again, tank size and specs are always useful

My GSM female can get aggressive in her territory but other than that is pretty peaceful in my 180, in fact I just added a yellow Coris today. She hardly give him a second look, the tangs on the other hand all had their fins flared the whole time he was out.

I say keep it, but I am biased for GSMs

how big is your clown? I have one that Ive had one that was the first fish in the tank but I bought him small because its in my 24g pod. I give him no anemone because that only makes them more territorial, but recently he started taking to the frogspawn. even now that he is hosting he hasnt been all that aggressive. I attribute that to the fact that its just shy of 3 inches. usually when a fish gets big, they get mean. I would trade the one you have and get a smaller one.
