Default Picked up new tank & Ace drilled it today!

75 gallon. Ace drilled it for me and made an overflow for it, came out great though I was sweating bullets while he was drilling since I had just picked up the tank from the store 20 minutes prior. Thanks ace! (its dirty right now) Now I have to attempt to build my first stand/hood/sump.

Nice tank and very nice overflow. Is this what the 250's are going to go over?

Yup, hopefully I don't turn the tank into a cajun boil with those lights.

Is it me, or are there no "teeth" on that overflow? I love the length of it, but won't the fish/critters just flow over the sides of it, too?

Or, is this for a frag tank? I guess it wouldn't need them if there's no fish in there.

I took egg crate, made a box and put it inside mine. The teeth don't keep the snails from going over.

no teeth means a thinner sheet of water collected from the surface of the tank (which is where the wastes seem to collect). this improves the efficiency of your skimmer by giving it more waste concentration in the water supplying it. bill is exactly right, egg crate on the inside (either a vertical wall around the inside or sitting horizontally on top) will keep the fish and other critters out.

True Calfo overflow. Just level the tank, then dial in the freturn low to get thin layer of overflow water. very efficient.
