Roadrunner! Ahhhhh!!!!!!!

ive been having alot of trouble lately with roadrunner. it constantly goes in and out of working. when i called the trouble support they simply told me what i already knew..unplug the modem..wait 30 sec..then they said they've been having alot of trouble lately but that was 2 weeks ago! im getting tired of it!
what is an internet service as good or better than roadrunner?

Are you positive it's not spyware or virus related? I hardly ever have problems with TWC.... If it's possibly virus or spyware, there are some free softwares which are IMHO much better than the bloatware giants. The programs that I recommend are:
Virus:
www.avast.com absolutely free, you just have to register. Updated daily.
Spyware etc:
Ad-aware http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-200...dlpid=10045910
Spybot S&D http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail...y/1043809773/1

Update them all, and scan. Avast has an option to schedule a boot time scan, which is the best route to take with a problematic machine. It will scan your pc in a pre-windows environment which allows for the removal of viruses more effectively since the viruses cannot attach to the services that windows uses since they have not loaded yet. it may be the modem. i was having the same issue, when i finally had a tech guy tell me "wow that modem is ancient - it isnt even capable of the speed you are paying for" he told me to take it in and trade it in for a new one - works like a champ now.

its a brand new computer...brand new modem and brand new router...ill scan though thanks

take the modem in to one of their retail outlets and tell them the tech on the phone told you it needed to be swapped out. those modems go out all of the time and the exact symptoms you have are indicators of a bad modem.

yeah it started with the old modem so took it in and switched it out but the same thing..new ethernet cables and everything too..i just dont know

yes. TWC is famous for bad hardware in general.

alright ill go get another new modem...my friend told me he cant even use a router with roadrunner it just doesnt let him..if a new modem doesnt work again could this be it?
and...is there anything comprable to performance and speed of roadrunner?
