Thread: Flame Angel laying on Rocks

Default Flame Angel laying on Rocks

My flame is still breathing but is just laying flat on the rocks, he swims around for a minutes then lays back on the rocks. The time between each swim is getting longer and longer. Anyone ever experienced this. Is there any hope.

My salinity is at 1.201, temp 78-80. 55gal tank with about 75-80lbs of live rock. I use crushed coral as opposed to sand. My nitrates are either 0 or .25, the color is somewhere in the middle. Hard to really tell.

Is he a goner or is there still hope for him? Should I do a water change immediately?

I'm guessing that it's not going to be a good outcome. Any other particluars?

Read up on them. Google it if you have to. Alot of flame angels have been captured and bought only to die. I have read about this all over the web. I can't find links right now, I am sleepy still.

Flames are not the hardiest of the dwarf angels. Rusty and Coral Beautys usually do much better.
