finally found a salifert alk test (AD had 1 in stock) and it says mine is at 3.5 meq/l
ive come to accept that it was just his time to go and already replaced him with another crocea

I have yet to understand fresh water dipping a clam, when you remove the clam from the water, its instinctive response is to close up tight, usually no mantle exposed. So basicly, youre dipping the shell, what good is that doing? Am I missing something here? It may help in the removal of any Pyramid snails that may be present but thats about it. Inform me.

i dont think it closes up air/water tight, but like you i dont understand the freshwater dip theory either

my 2nd crocea now did the same thing
yet my derasa is thriving

Are your bulbs getting old enough to cause a drop in PAR?
