Thread: cleaning with vinegar

    Default cleaning with vinegar

    Hello folks,
I just spent a little while researching the threads about cleaning with white vinegar. I see some that say soak in vinegar ... some that say ro/di+vinegar ... some that say strong solution. I need to clean my skimmer, so is there a nice mix? ... so many parts vinegar to water, or is it like my italian family cooking? The answer to how much is always "some".

Usually a ratio of 4:1 will work in most situations, sometimes you may need more or less, its a good starting point, its really not an exacting science, the vinegar wont hurt anything by itself, its just more economical to dillute it.

It's not strong enough to do any damage, that's why we like it. I've used it straight up before to clean things and I've diluted it when I felt cheap, didn't want to buy 390g worth.

Sometimes Ill mix it with table salt to make a paste and use it as a mild abrasive for the more stubborn stuff.
