What do those of you who keep eels in your reef tanks cover them with? I read that eels will sometimes climb out of the tank or down the plumbing. Do they knock over established corals or just the ones that are barely growing onto the rocks?

I have a 32" Red-stripe Zebra. Pretty cool Eel, only one in ten get the red stripe. They are the same as the regular zebra but every other white stripe is red.

Sounds really cool Steve. When you get the big tank you will probably see it more often I bet.

How do you keep the eggcrate secured?

zip tie the parts on the back of the tank to the eggcrate. Your canopy should hold the front down when closed. This way it opens like a car hood.

I have a Zebra as well in my 210g. I'd figure him to be right about 2ft long if not just shy of it. He is very docile in my aggressive tank and does not bother my little blue leg hermit crabs. My tank is FOWLR so i cannot provide you with advice concerning corals.

My snowflake will venture to the top of the tank but has yet to break the waters surface although he has looked like he was. I also hand feed him just a few inches from the surface. I have to full sheets of eggcrate covering the top.
